I am proud to say that I am a second generation Broker and Auctioneer with over 20 years combined real estate and auction experience licensed in North and South Carolina. My dad, Craig Gates was instrumental in getting me into the real estate and auction business. During my career, I have strived to participate and learn as much as possible about the real
estate and auction business so I can serve my customers and clients better. I am married to my lovely wife Cindy and have two daughters, Lydia Marie and Laura Marie. Over the span of my career, I have been afforded the opportunity to serve in many capacities. A few of them include my service as the 1999 Lincoln County Board President, 1999 Director on the NC Association of Realtors and Director on the Carolina Multiple Listing Service Board representing Lincoln County. I am e-PRO Internet Certified by the National Association of Realtors and one of the few National Auctioneers Association Certified Estate Specialist. I am a member of the local, state and National Association of Realtors and National Auctioneers Association.

Cindy is a graduate of Western Carolina University with a Bachelors Degree in Social Work. Prior to assuming the Office Manager position in February 2007 with our firm, Cindy worked in the healthcare field with the majority of her career spent with the Hospice organization as Senior Social Worker. Cindy has been a great asset in assuming not only a ownership role, but an organizer of a very fast growing company. Cindy also has over 15 years in the auction business as clerk and cashier. Cindy is a very detailed oriented person that truly cares about her clients and customers. Cindy is an avid scrapbooker and photographer and enjoys her daughters Lydia and Laura.

Madeline Grigg, Broker/Realtor
My real estate career began in 1989 at my mother's agency, Broad River Realty, in Shelby NC. Sadly, she passed away due to cancer only months after I got my license. The next few years were spent at Century 21/Shields Realty, also in Shelby. I remained with them until the early 90's, when I took a break from real estate to start a family. I left my license inactive until 7 years ago. It's then that I activated my license, and began again here in Lincoln County.
It's hard to believe, but I've been married to my husband, Keith, for 19 years. We still live Kings Mtn with our wonderful daughter Jessica. She is 16, and a junior at Kings Mtn. High School.
Our home (mini farm) reflects the lifestyle we believe in. We have four horses, chickens, dogs, and of course cats. We work hard and play hard, and are active in the Gaston County Horseman’s Association.
Even though the real estate business is hard work, especially today, I am still driven to help people with their real estate needs. I recently discovered United Country, and think the company reflects the same values we think are important. After careful consideration, I decided I would make United Country my real estate home, and continue the work I find so rewarding.

Greg McBryde, Broker, Realtor
Greg moved to NC in 1978, and has lived in Lincoln County North Carolina almost his entire adult life. He bought land and built a home in west Lincoln County in 1990. He has been married to his wife Kristy since April of 1989, and has three children. His oldest daughter Laura is attending Hollins University in Roanoke Va. on scholarship, and his twin 8 year olds, Emily and Amanda attend Lincoln Charter School.
Greg drove a truck as a company driver for Western Auto, and later as an owner-operator, until leaving the industry in 2000. Kristy is a 2005 graduate of UNCC, and is now a financial advisor for TIAA-CREF in Charlotte. The entire family are members of First Prebyterian Church of Lincolnton. Greg is also involved in the Licolnton Downtown Development Association as a volunteer, and Kristy co-leads a Girl Scout troop.
